Astra - Request Account Deletion

If you would like to delete your Astra account and all associated data, this page provides information about the deletion process, what data will be removed, and how long certain data may be retained.
How to Request Account Deletion
To delete your Astra account, please follow these steps:
- Open the Astra app on your iPhone or Android device
- Log in to your account if you haven't already
- Go to the Profile tab
- Scroll down to find "Delete Account" and tap it
- Review the data deletion warning and tap "Continue with Deletion"
- Type "DELETE MY ACCOUNT" exactly as shown to confirm
- Tap "Delete My Account" to complete the deletion process
Alternative method: If you cannot access the app or prefer email contact, you can request account deletion by emailing us at ongjieshen+astra_privacy@gmail.com with the subject line "Account Deletion Request" and include your registered email address.
Data That Will Be Deleted
When you delete your Astra account, the following data will be permanently removed from our systems:
- Your profile information and settings
- All your contacts and contact information
- All tasks and actions
- All conversations and messages
- All voice recordings and transcripts
- All connected third-party accounts (Google, etc.)
- Any stored preferences and configurations
Data Retention Period
Most of your data is deleted immediately upon account deletion. However, certain data may be retained for limited periods as follows:
- Immediate deletion (0 days): Profile information, contacts, conversations, voice recordings, tasks, and personal data
- 30-day retention: System backups containing your data (for disaster recovery purposes only)
- 90-day retention: Payment and subscription records (required for tax and legal compliance)
- Indefinite retention (anonymized): Aggregated usage statistics and analytics data that cannot be linked back to you
Important Notes
- Account deletion is permanent - Once deleted, your account cannot be recovered
- Active subscriptions - Please cancel any active subscriptions before deleting your account. Deleting your account does not automatically cancel subscriptions through the App Store or Google Play
- Third-party services - Data shared with integrated third-party services (like Google Calendar) must be managed separately through those services
- Backup downloads - If you need a copy of your data, please contact support before deleting your account
Processing Time
Account deletions are processed immediately when initiated through the app. Email requests are typically processed within 48 hours of receipt. You will receive a confirmation email once your account deletion is complete.
